WDFUA Junior Values Reward Program
Purpose
The WDFUA Junior Reward Program celebrates the positive contributions of our junior umpires by recognising those who consistently represent the values of our Association — Respect, Teamwork, Integrity, Excellence, and Fun.
The program aims to build confidence, reward positive behaviour, and reinforce the kind of umpiring culture we want to grow.
How It Works
WDFUA members, coaches, or mentors can nominate junior umpires who have gone above and beyond in demonstrating our values.
Nominations should be sent by email to: admin@wdfua.com.au
The WDFUA Committee will review nominations and select recipients throughout the season.
Selected juniors will be acknowledged and presented with a Wendy’s Milk Bar voucher during our Junior Umpire Presentations.
Nomination Criteria
Each nomination must include:
Name of the junior umpire
Which value(s) they showed
Short reason (1–2 sentences) explaining the nomination
Name of the person submitting the nomination
Example: “I’d like to nominate Jack D. for showing respect and integrity. Jack calmly managed a tricky moment during the U12s and then checked in on the players after the game.”
WDFUA Core Values:
Respect - Listening to feedback, treating players and officials with fairness
Teamwork - Helping fellow umpires prepare or encouraging others at training
Integrity - Owning mistakes, being honest, and making fair calls
Excellence - Showing focus, asking questions, and always looking to improve
Fun - Bringing enthusiasm, staying positive, and enjoying the umpiring experience
Reward and Recognition
Prize: Wendy’s Milk Bar voucher
Presentation: Recipients will be announced and celebrated during Junior Umpire Presentation Night
All nominees will be acknowledged, with selected individuals receiving a voucher as part of the program
Why It Matters
This initiative encourages young umpires to live the values of the WDFUA and helps create a supportive, rewarding, and fun environment for everyone involved.
